About Us:

The Familie is a music and sports agency representing top talent across the entertainment and athletic industries. Headquartered in Nashville, The Familie also has offices in Los Angeles, Scottsdale, and San Diego. We offer an exciting opportunity for a motivated college student to gain hands-on experience in the fast-paced world of talent management.

Position Overview:

The Familie is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented NIL Basketball Intern to support our basketball team with recruiting, research, and day-to-day initiatives related to prospective NIL talent.

This role is ideal for a student with a strong knowledge of college and high school basketball who is interested in learning more about athlete representation, talent identification, and the NIL landscape. The intern will work closely with members of our basketball team to research and track prospective athletes, monitor developments across college basketball and recruiting, and provide administrative and research support throughout the recruiting process.

This internship provides hands-on exposure to the talent representation business and an opportunity to learn how an agency identifies, evaluates, and builds relationships with prospective basketball clients.

*Please note this is an unpaid internship, applicants MUST be eligible for class credit.*

Responsibilities:

  • Research and identify prospective NIL basketball talent at the college and high school levels
  • Assist with tracking prospective recruits, including player information, rankings, statistics, team information, and other relevant updates
  • Monitor college basketball, high school basketball, recruiting rankings, transfer activity, and other developments relevant to prospective talent
  • Research prospective athletes and compile background information to support the recruiting process
  • Maintain and update internal recruiting databases, trackers, and prospect lists
  • Assist with preparing player profiles, research summaries, and other materials for internal review
  • Track key dates, games, tournaments, showcases, and other events relevant to recruiting efforts
  • Conduct research on the NIL and college basketball landscape, including industry trends and developments
  • Support agents and team members with administrative needs related to recruiting and prospective clients
  • Participate in team meetings and assist with notes and follow-up items as needed
  • Support additional basketball and NIL-related projects as assigned

Details:

Duration: 3 months, with flexible start and end dates based on academic calendar (Fall 2026)

Hours: Time commitment expectation of about 15- 20 hours a week. Flexible schedule based on the intern's class schedule.

Compensation: Unpaid internship; must be eligible for class credit

In-Office Requirement: Interns are expected to be onsite 2-3  days per week

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Must be enrolled in a university and continue to be enrolled for the duration of the internship
  • Preferably pursuing a degree in Sports Management, Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of and interest in college and high school basketball
  • Genuine interest in athlete representation, recruiting, NIL, and the sports industry
  • Familiarity with college basketball recruiting, player rankings, transfer activity, and the broader basketball landscape
  • Strong research and analytical skills with the ability to organize and communicate information clearly
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling sensitive information
  • Self-motivated with the ability to take direction and work independently
  • Previous experience in sports, recruiting, basketball operations, or a related field is a plus, but not required
  • Preference for juniors and seniors
