Administrative Assistant

Amarillo Tank Shop - Amarillo, TX 79118

Overview

Description

Guardian Rail is proud to operate one of the country's leading freight rail services and transportation companies with a large network of freight and tank car repair facilities, a nationwide network of running repair agents, and a rail services division that operates short line railroads and contract switching and transloading sites.

The Administrative Assistant reports to the Facility Manager and supports all clerical and administrative needs for the facility.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Answer telephones, send and receive correspondence
  • Provide clerical support for the facility leadership team
  • Coordinate meetings and employee events
  • Maintain all files for facility
  • Disposition railcars
  • Prepare and distribute reports
  • Develop status reports and send to personnel and customers
  • Purchasing for facility and accurate entry into PO system
  • Help maintain QA files and forms as required by the QA program.
  • Work with senior management and shop management to help resolve any QA concerns or shop production or employee concerns.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

4-7 plus years of experience in document control and and administrative duties

Preferred experience in industry, construction or manufacturing environment

7 plus years of computer experience (utilizing Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel and other software programs).

Must have good communication skills to communicate with management, customer, and all personnel.

Must have good writing skills to assure good communication for all personnel and customers.

Must be able to provide status reports to customers, management and field team as needed.
