Job description

Who we are looking for:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated IT Engineer โ€“ Network II to support the management and development of our physical and virtual enterprise networks. In this role, you will assist in the design, configuration, and optimization of network infrastructure, perform advanced troubleshooting, and contribute to projects that enhance the companyโ€™s IT capabilities. The Network Engineer II will collaborate with senior engineers on network architecture initiatives, participate in migrations and integrations, and help implement best practices to ensure reliable and efficient network operations. This individual will also be expected to educate and demonstrate support and deployment strategies to developing teammates.

What you will do:

  • Contribute to improving user interactions with the network and related services to support a seamless customer experience.
  • Assist in the design, configuration, and deployment of network solutions and improvements under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Support coordination with network vendors, consultants, and service providers to ensure timely delivery, maintenance, and integration of network components.
  • Configure and maintain firewalls, routing, and switching protocols to optimize network performance and security.
  • Implement and monitor network systems to maintain optimal performance, identify potential risks, and assist in resolving technical issues.
  • Support the management of physical and virtual network infrastructure, assisting with upgrades, enhancements, capacity planning, and system integration.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation, ensuring alignment with IT security and compliance requirements.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance, system updates, and audits to minimize downtime and support operational stability.
  • Troubleshoot, prioritize, and resolve network incidents in collaboration with other IT and business teams.
  • Assist in disaster recovery and business continuity initiatives to support network reliability and recovery capabilities.
  • Participate in capacity planning discussions by analyzing utilization trends and providing input on scalability improvements.
  • Contribute to IT Operations and acquisition activities by supporting assessments and network integration efforts at new or merging sites.
  • Collaborate with vendors and service providers as needed to resolve technical issues and ensure reliable network operations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

What you will need:

  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • BS degree in Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ yearsโ€™ relevant industry experience in network engineering, with hands-on experience in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
  • Prefer Cisco Certified Network Administrator.
  • Fortinet NSE 4 or better.
  • Expertise in supporting and managing large enterprise networks, ideally in a 24/7 operational setting.
  • Strong preference for candidates with Cisco Meraki, Fortinet, and Ubiquiti experience.
  • Familiarity with ITIL standards and IT Security compliance requirements.
  • Ability to visualize, design, and troubleshoot complex systems easily.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information effectively to various audiences and establish rapport.
  • Ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels, displaying tact, empathy, and professionalism.
  • Strong analytical thinking, with robust problem-solving abilities.
  • Travel: 20 %+ travel as needed to support remote network locations, assist with on-site issues, and support network projects. This includes domestic and international locations.
