Family Assistant – Kildeer, IL

Make a meaningful impact in your community. We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and engaging Family Assistant to provide one-on-one support to an individual with an intellectual disability. In this rewarding role, you will work directly within the client’s natural home environment and the surrounding community, fostering independence, facilitating social integration, and assisting with daily life skills.

Compensation & Schedule
  • Pay Rate: $21.35/hour

  • Hours: Part-time (Up to 15 hours per week)

  • Set Schedule: Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM

  • Weekend Schedule: Flexible hours available on Saturday and Sunday

Key Responsibilities
  • 1:1 Support: Provide personalized care, companionship, and guidance to the client within their family home.

  • Community Integration: Safely transport and accompany the client on community outings, recreational activities, and local errands.

  • Skill Building: Encourage and assist the client in developing and maintaining daily living skills to promote personal independence.

  • Family Collaboration: Maintain open, positive communication with the client’s family members to ensure consistent and supportive care.

  • Safety & Well-being: Ensure a safe, supportive, and engaging environment at all times.

What You Bring
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

  • Valid driver’s license, a reliable personal vehicle, and current vehicle insurance.
