Overview

Summary/Objective 

The Applications Technician III is an advanced staff position primarily responsible for planning, installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting core application updates and enterprise software systems. In addition to serving as a key escalation point for end-user support, this role independently manages complex application issues, supports system stability, and assists with process improvement initiatives related to application support and deployment.

Salary: $57,000 - $62,000, plus certification incentives.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Under minimal supervision, plan, test, install, and troubleshoot core vendor updates and application enhancements within a call center or enterprise environment.
  • Analyze, diagnose, and resolve complex client, server, and application-related issues, demonstrating a high degree of technical expertise, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Serve as an escalation resource for Applications Technicians I and Help Desk staff, providing guidance and mentoring as needed.
  • Answer help desk calls as required, create and update tickets, and ensure timely resolution of assigned and escalated incidents.
  • Communicate technical solutions clearly and professionally to both technical and non-technical end-users.
  • Proactively identify recurring issues, document root causes, and recommend or implement long-term solutions in accordance with defined procedures and policies.
  • Coordinate with senior technicians, vendors, and other IT teams on high-impact or sensitive application issues and system updates.
  • Assist with documentation, testing, and continuous improvement of application support processes.
  • Perform related work as required.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibility.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, scanners, and copy machines. Use of personal phone through Multi-factor authentication is required.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. In-office. Mon-Fri 8a-5p. Hours may be flexible for preference or shift needs. 

Travel

Infrequent travel is expected for this position.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

  • Basic to intermediate understanding of troubleshooting methodology
  • Basic understanding of desktop operating systems, various software applications, and PC/Server/Network hardware.
  • Basic understanding of principles and theories of network systems and
  • Basic understanding of Internet technologies and
  • Basic understanding of electrical safety
  • At least one year of technical work experience or equivalent

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Associate's (or higher) degree in computer science-related field.
  • Two or more years of technical work experience.
  • One or more relevant technical certifications (e.g., A+, Network+ and Security+).
