Job description

Job Description
Graphic Designer
At Olomana Loomis ISC, creativity and strategy go hand in hand.
We're a Hawai'i-rooted, globally connected consulting firm blending business, brand, marketing, and communications. For nearly 30 years, we've partnered with organizations that shape Hawai'i and beyond - from schools and nonprofits to healthcare, hospitality, government, and purpose-driven businesses.
We believe great design is more than decoration. It helps organizations earn trust, move people, and create impact.
And right now may be one of the most exciting times in history to be a designer.
AI is changing the creative process in real time - accelerating ideation, expanding visual possibilities, and creating entirely new ways to tell stories. We're not afraid of that shift. We're leaning into it.
We're looking for a designer who is curious, adaptable, collaborative, and energized by what's possible.
The Role
This is a hands-on creative role within Alchemyst Studios, our in-house creative team.
You'll work across print, digital, social, video, presentation design, campaigns, environmental graphics, and emerging media. Some days you'll be refining brand systems. Other days you'll be building motion graphics, designing social campaigns, experimenting with AI-generated concepts, or helping shape storytelling for organizations doing meaningful work in Hawai'i.
You'll collaborate closely with strategists, communicators, writers, and creatives locally and across the global ICOM network.
If you love variety, momentum, and continuous learning, you'll probably thrive here.
What You'll Do
  • Design across print, digital, social, video, and environmental platforms
  • Bring ideas from concept to execution with strong attention to craft and detail
  • Collaborate with strategists, writers, clients, and creatives to create meaningful work
  • Use AI-powered creative tools to accelerate ideation and production workflows
  • Balance bold creative thinking with practical execution
  • Contribute to brainstorming, storytelling, and campaign development
  • Stay curious and continuously evolve your creative skills

What We're Looking For
  • Strong design fundamentals and good creative instincts
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Experience with AI-assisted creative workflows and emerging tools
  • Ability to adapt quickly and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Positive attitude and collaborative mindset
  • Someone who cares about the details because details always matter
  • Photography, motion, video, or illustration skills are a plus

A Few Things About Our Culture
We care deeply about the work and about each other. We move fast, collaborate often, and believe ego kills good creative work. We value people who are curious, humble, dependable, and willing to keep learning.
But what makes this place different is the opportunity to do meaningful work that genuinely impacts Hawai'i. The work you create here won't just fill a portfolio. It may help a school inspire future generations, help a nonprofit serve communities more effectively, help a local business grow, or help organizations navigate moments that truly matter.
We also believe Hawai'i deserves world-class creative work rooted in authentic cultural understanding - not generic ideas imported from somewhere else. At the same time, our perspective extends far beyond the islands. Through our global ICOM network, you'll have opportunities to collaborate with and learn from designers, strategists, and agencies around the world, bringing fresh ideas and global thinking back home to Hawai'i.
We're looking for people who want to grow creatively, stay curious, and use their talents to make a real difference.
Qualifications
  • Minimum, a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Media Arts, or related field preferred
  • Professional experience in design, agency, in-house, freelance, or equivalent creative work
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating versatility across mediums

Perks & Benefits
  • Employer-paid health insurance (includes acupuncture + massage).
  • 401(k) with company match.
  • Generous PTO, sick leave, and paid holidays.
  • Parking subsidy or monthly bus pass.
  • Year-end performance bonus.
  • Group term life + optional supplemental insurance.
  • Flex spending accounts (medical and dependent care).
  • Ongoing professional development.

Apply Now
You must include a link to your portfolio - wow us with your best work in print, digital, social, video, and beyond.
Our process includes interviews, writing exercises, and reference/background checks. Candidates must already be on island (or relocating back soon) and ready to begin work within a month of offer.
At Olomana, you'll grow your craft, collaborate with a passionate team, and create work that makes a difference.
