Anesthesia Provider
Duties
Provide comprehensive anesthesia services as well as follow-up care of existing conditions and management of emergency conditions. Provide pre-operative and post-operative anesthesia services, including hospital rounds for surgical patients. Provide supervision of CRNAs in the administration of anesthesia for surgical cases and be available and capable of providing any needed anesthesia consultation. Document services through appropriate note, such as history and physical, anesthesia consultation notes. Participate in Morbidity and Mortality conference providing information and documentation as needed. Participate in and be available for on-call responsibilities and consultation as needed. Educate residents and students in the principles and therapy of complex and basic anesthesia including lecture. Participate in clinical research protocols either developed locally or in cooperation with other faculty or developed at other institutions for multi-center studies. Perform the administrative duties involved in the proper functioning of the Surgical Care Service Line. These will include but are not limited to: supervising CRNAs, CRNA students, residents and/or physician assistants; developing and reviewing policies for the Surgical Care Service Line; ensuring that JCAHO, Safety, AAMI, OSHA, VA and other agency regulations are being met; ensuring continuing education of staff under his/her supervision.
