Duties

  • Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and farm machinery using schematics and technical manuals.
  • Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire services, brake repairs, suspension adjustments, and hydraulic system troubleshooting to prevent downtime.
  • Fabricate and modify equipment components using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet operational needs.
  • Repair and maintain diesel engines, transmissions, air brake systems, HVAC units, shocks & struts, and electrical systems with precision and attention to detail.
  • Utilize heavy equipment operation skills for testing repaired machinery ensuring safety standards are met before returning equipment to service.
  • Read and interpret schematics for electrical wiring, hydraulic systems, and mechanical assemblies to accurately diagnose issues.
  • Assist with assembly of new equipment or parts as needed while adhering to safety protocols and quality standards.

Requirements

  • Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in heavy equipment repair; dealership experience is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in automotive diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, hydraulics, suspension systems, and HVAC repair.
  • Hands-on experience with fabricating, welding (including arc welding), soldering, and using various power tools for repairs or modifications.
  • Ability to lift heavy components safely during maintenance tasks; familiarity with heavy lifting techniques is essential.
  • Knowledge of schematics for electrical systems, hydraulics, transmissions, air brakes, and other industrial equipment.
  • Experience operating heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts or tractor-trailers is preferred.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent customer service skills when interacting with team members or clients regarding repairs or maintenance needs.
