Foley Family Farms (FFF) is a rapidly growing West Coast company with farming in California and Oregon.
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Vineyard Mechanic with a valid CDL to maintain, repair, and operate vineyard and agricultural equipment while also supporting transportation needs. This position plays a critical role in keeping vineyard operations running efficiently through preventative maintenance, timely repairs, and safe equipment operation.
Base of operations will be Southern Sonoma, Napa and Lake counties with occasional support to outlying regions. (ex: North Sonoma, Contra Costa, Sacramento, Santa Barbara and Oregon)
Roles and Responsibilities:
Equipment Maintenance & Repair
• Diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on vineyard and agricultural equipment, including tractors, sprayers, harvesters, forklifts, pumps, and implements
• Service diesel and gasoline engines, hydraulic systems, PTOs, drivetrains, braking systems, and electrical systems
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues in the field and shop
• Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records
• Ensure equipment complies with safety and operational standards
Vineyard & Farm Support
• Assist with equipment setup and calibration for spraying, mowing, cultivation, and harvest operations
• Support vineyard operations during peak seasons, including harvest and frost protection periods
• Communicate equipment needs and repair timelines with vineyard management
CDL Driving & Transportation
• Safely operate CDL-required vehicles to transport equipment, materials, supplies, or harvested product as needed
• Safely load, secure, and unload cargo in compliance with DOT and company safety standards
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections in compliance with company and DOT regulations
• Maintain CDL compliance, logbooks, required certifications, and BIT inspections
Safety & Compliance
• Follow all OSHA, DOT, and company safety procedures
• Maintain a clean and organized shop and work area
• Promote safe work practices for equipment operation and maintenance
Requirements
Required
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience as an agricultural or vineyard mechanic
• Valid CDL (Class A with doubles) with clean driving record
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and agricultural equipment
• Ability to read service manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics
• Ability to perform BIT inspections
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
• Fluent in English
Preferred
• Experience specific to vineyard equipment (tractors, sprayers, harvesters)
• Familiarity with John Deere, New Holland, Kubota, or similar ag equipment
• Spanish language skills
• Basic welding and fabrication skills
Physical & Work Requirements:
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Flexible schedule during peak agricultural seasons, including evenings and weekends
