Job description

ROLE SUMMARY

Independently performs preventive maintenance and standard repairs on ambulances and support vehicles to ensure operational readiness and regulatory compliance.

This is an Hourly/Non-Exempt position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct preventive maintenance inspections (PMIs).
  • Perform brake repairs, suspension work, steering component repair, and minor engine work.
  • Diagnose routine mechanical issues using diagnostic tools.
  • Repair lighting systems and minor electrical components.
  • Complete accurate service documentation.
  • Maintain compliance with manufacturer and regulatory standards.
  • Support roadside repairs when necessary.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driverโ€™s license and insurable driving record.
  • 2+ years of automotive or diesel repair experience OR technical certification.
  • Basic diagnostic capability.
  • Must possess a personal set of automotive/diesel mechanic tools sufficient to perform job duties.
  • Tool inventory may be verified upon hire

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • ASE certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Experience with medium/heavy-duty vehicles.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
  • Prolonged standing, bending, kneeling, crawling.
  • Ability to work under vehicles and in confined spaces.
