Job description

Job Summary: On-time production of module tasks meeting quality standards for Martinrea Riverside customers.


Required Education and Experience:

Must be able to read work instructions written in English

High School diploma or equivalent

Ability to interact with the Management Team in a professional manner to continually enhance the company's performance

Desire to produce product meeting quality standards as written in work instructions for each module cell assigned.

Ability to work in a team environment

Respecting and understanding of the Customer/Supplier relationship

Capable of performing all job functions within cycle time in his/her assigned area.

Ability to work independently without supervision and with minimum directions

Successful Completion of Martinrea International's Orientation Program

Successful Completion of Martinrea Riverside LLC's Supervisor & Team Lead Training


Essential Functions:

Train new and/or transferred team members to follow Standard Work Instructions, Quality alerts and any known safety regulations in the work area.

Provide emergency relief or assist employees encountering difficulties. Provide support or assist operators who have difficulties (i.e. breakdowns). Support supervisors to achieve Productivity, Quality, Scrap, Internal rework target and with other special projects.

Support Supervisor to achieve productivity, quality, scrap, internal teardown reductions and other projects (e.g. Program Launch, engineering changes, debugging processes)

Investigate the causes of abnormalities. Report to supervisor any non-conformances. Take corrective actions as required.

Advise supervisor of changes.

Lead operators in performing 5S and all other related lean initiatives such as TPM in order to maintain a good environmental work place.

Perform various assembly operations of customer product and/or perform other duties according to specific job instructions

Follow work instructions and verbal directions to meet targeted production quotas

Ensure that only quality parts are passed onto the next operation, notify supervisor of quality related problems immediately

Complete all necessary documentation (production reports, quality alerts etc.) correctly and in a timely manner. Ask for assistance as required

Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards and legislation including Environmental Legislation, for Industrial Establishments, and the Occupational Health and Safety Act

Understand and be compliant with all laws as it relates to Harassment and Violence in the workplace.

Report all occurrences of downtime or equipment malfunction to the Production Supervisor/Production Manager

Participate in all off-line activities such as meetings, training, problem resolution, housekeeping and preventative maintenance

Abide by all Company polices including, but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies, and the Martinrea Employee Handbook

Physical Demands:

  • Constant Standing and repetitive arm/wrist movements with occasional bending
  • Constant communication with employees, peers, management

  • Lifting as required

Health and Safety:

  • Must work in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, Company and plant rules, policies and procedures

Must use or wear Personal Protective Equipment and certain clothing as required by the Company
