Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Research Assistant for the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences - Department of Marine & Coastal Sciences. The role will primarily support marine ecological research, focused on hydrothermal vent ecosystems at Axial Seamount.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
  • Assists with analysis of underwater video data to assess biological trends and organism abundance over time.
  • Conducts video annotation and classification of marine organisms.
  • Organizes and processes large datasets, assist with Python-based data analysis workflows, generate summary visualizations, and maintain accurate research documentation.
  • Collaborates closely with the research team in support of ongoing marine ecosystem studies.
