This position supports a 24/7 airport transportation operation serving travelers seven days a week, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak travel periods. Flexibility to work varying schedules is required.
The Spirit of the Position
As an Operations Manager, you are responsible for supporting the daily success of LAZ Airport Services' shuttle transportation operation at Denver International Airport.
You will lead frontline teams, supervisors, and operational staff to ensure safe, efficient, and customer-focused operations. Your leadership will help drive operational excellence, employee engagement, compliance, and continuous improvement while supporting the transportation needs of thousands of airport travelers every day.
As a company devoted to promoting an employee-focused servant leadership culture, the Operations Manager supports programs and initiatives originating from both local and corporate leadership while helping team members grow, develop, and succeed.
What You'll Do
Operational Leadership
  • Oversee daily shuttle transportation operations to ensure service levels meet operational expectations.
  • Monitor operational performance and quickly identify and address service disruptions, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with airport requirements, company policies, safety standards, and contractual obligations.
  • Develop and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency, service quality, and workplace safety.
  • Partner with airport police, emergency management teams, and airport stakeholders to support operational excellence.
  • Support special projects, initiatives, and operational improvements as assigned.

Team Leadership & Development
  • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop frontline employees, leads, and supervisors.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and exceptional customer service.
  • Identify high-potential employees and support leadership development and succession planning efforts.
  • Conduct coaching conversations and provide timely performance feedback.
  • Promote employee engagement through recognition, communication, and development opportunities.
  • Encourage open communication, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Customer Experience
  • Promote and train first-class customer service throughout the operation.
  • Ensure team members consistently deliver professional and service-focused experiences.
  • Assist in resolving customer concerns quickly, professionally, and effectively.
  • Support a culture that exceeds customer expectations and builds long-term client confidence.

Administration & Compliance
  • Assist with workforce planning, scheduling, and staffing activities.
  • Review and approve employee timecards and payroll information to ensure accuracy.
  • Partner with Human Resources to support wage and hour compliance and employee relations initiatives.
  • Support operations that may require compliance with Collective Bargaining Agreements.
  • Assist with the preparation and delivery of daily, weekly, monthly, and annual operational and financial reports.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Qualifications
Required
  • Valid license with at least two (2) years of driving experience.
  • Leadership experience in transportation, parking, logistics, hospitality, airport operations, or a related field.
  • Strong customer service, coaching, and employee development skills.
  • Ability to identify operational opportunities and implement effective improvements.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to identify and mitigate business and workplace risks.
  • Ability to interpret policies, procedures, and standard business practices.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, accountability, and sense of urgency.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain all required airport badging credentials.
  • Must meet required speaking and listening assessment standards.

Preferred
  • Airport, transportation, shuttle, parking, or logistics management experience.
  • Experience working in a union environment or with Collective Bargaining Agreements.
  • Payroll, scheduling, and workforce planning experience.
  • Experience leading large customer-service-driven operations.

Physical Requirements
  • This role requires the ability to:
  • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, rain, wind, and snow.

  • Bend, stoop, squat, and move frequently throughout a shift.
  • Travel throughout parking facilities, transportation areas, and operational locations.
