Position Summary
The Senior Accountant is responsible for performing advanced accounting functions that support the Company’s financial reporting, manufacturing operations, and financial analysis and plays a key role in the day-to-day accounting duties as well as the month-end and year-end closing activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
General Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Prepare and review monthly journal entries.
- Reconcile various balance sheets and general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Maintain fixed asset schedules and manage depreciation entries.
- Assist with multi-entity consolidations and eliminating entries.
- Assist with maintaining the general ledger and ensure compliance with GAAP.
- Support month-end close for inventory, cost of goods sold, and manufacturing overhead.
- Support cycle counting and physical inventory processes.
- Assist with the day-to-day accounting functions related to accounts receivable including but not limited to customer onboarding, ensuring sales tax is collected accurately, and collections.
Analysis & Business Support
- Analyze manufacturing costs, inventory transactions, and operational variances.
- Support with budgeting and forecasting when requested.
- Assist management with various reports and financial analyses.
- Identify trends and provide recommendations to improve financial performance.
Compliance & Internal Controls
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop, maintain, and improve internal controls and accounting procedures.
- Assist with tax filings, sales tax reporting, and other compliance-related requirements as needed.
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows through technology and automation and assist in implementing solutions.
- Support ERP maintenance, data accuracy initiatives, and financial system enhancements.
- Participate in cross-functional projects affecting financial operations.
Leadership & Team Support
- Serve as a resource and mentor for accounting staff.
- Assist with training in accounting procedures and best practices.
- Provide backup support to the Accounts Payable Specialist and other accounting staff as needed.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- CPA, CMA, or progress toward certification preferred.
Experience
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Manufacturing accounting experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with inventory accounting, cost accounting, and ERP systems preferred.
- Experience supporting audits and financial statement preparation.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Proficiency with ERP and accounting software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Available to work overtime to support month-end and year-end close deadlines.
