Job description

The Maintenance Helper provides general support to the maintenance department by assisting maintenance personnel, maintaining a clean and organized work environment, supporting shop operations, handling materials and supplies, and performing entry-level maintenance support activities under direct supervision.

This position assists certificated maintenance personnel with non-certificated tasks and general maintenance department activities while helping maintain a safe, efficient, and organized maintenance operation. All maintenance-related work performed by the Maintenance Helper shall be conducted under the direction and supervision of the Director of Maintenance or appropriately qualified maintenance personnel.

The Maintenance Helper is a support role intended to improve maintenance department efficiency by assisting maintenance technicians with routine tasks, facility upkeep, parts handling, aircraft preparation activities, shop organization, and general operational support.

Essential FunctionsMaintenance Support
  • Assist maintenance personnel with assigned support tasks.

  • Assist with opening and closing aircraft access panels under supervision.

  • Assist with aircraft preparation for inspections and maintenance activities.

  • Retrieve tools, equipment, parts, and materials as requested.

  • Assist with movement of maintenance equipment and supplies.

  • Support maintenance technicians with routine non-certificated tasks.

  • Follow all maintenance department procedures and safety requirements.

Shop & Facility Maintenance
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance facilities, hangars, and work areas.

  • Sweep, clean, and organize shop areas and workstations.

  • Remove trash and dispose of materials in accordance with company procedures.

  • Assist with facility housekeeping and appearance.

  • Maintain clean and safe work environments throughout the maintenance area.

  • Support organization of storage areas, shelves, and common workspaces.

Tools, Parts & Inventory Support
  • Assist with organization and control of tools and equipment.

  • Assist with receiving, stocking, labeling, and organizing parts and materials.
