Job Summary:
The Residential Locksmith/Tech is responsible for effective technical communication, resolution, and continuous improvements with Delaney door hardware products. This team member will also develop and support technical and instruction writing for internal and external publications. This can include installation instructions, mounting templates, technical bulletins, product training material, cross-reference guides, and product literature. The ideal candidate will have the ability to quickly grasp residential and commercial door hardware products within the company's product portfolio. This position reports directly to the Sales Management and works closely with Customer Service and the warehouse.
Requirements
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for same-day responsiveness via phone or email on technical questions from Customers and Customer Service/ISR's/OSR's.
• Responsible for handling field issues that arise in a timely fashion - providing resolution.
• Knowledgeable about creating product assemblies and proficient in building them when necessary.
• Responsible for developing and maintaining technical documentation used by customers and internal staff - installation instructions, templates and bulletins.
• Creates and develops training course materials, to include PowerPoint presentations, handouts, quizzes/tests, Competitive Comparisons, FAQ's, Cylinder Sheets and other training aids/tools
• Conducts product training programs and demonstrations for OSR/ISR sales teams, explaining features, installation and applications.
• Develops product knowledge (PK) classes for customer delivery by OSR's, Delaney Sales or directly in person.
• Develops troubleshooting videos as necessary for customers.
• Support assembly of mounted product samples for customers and trade shows.
• Assist supplier transitions by responding to supplier specification inquiries and reviewing product samples against existing Delaney specifications.
• Drive a culture of 2 Second Lean and continuous improvement, accountability and results through strategic deployment and effective performance management.
• Attend and work industry trade shows to educate show attendees about the Delaney product portfolio and provide technical expertise.
• Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
• Experience working with Residential and Commercial Door Hardware products, installation and servicing.
• Strong problem solving and high customer satisfaction ratings.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Thorough understanding of company practices, processes and reporting requirements.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong presentation skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Minimum Requirements:
• Excellent attitude, passionate about customers, Delaney and door hardware.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience as a residential/commercial locksmith or construction.
• Intermediate level of skill in Microsoft Office, specifically in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift 75 pounds at times.
