Job Overview:
Cub Oakdale Wine & Spirits is looking for a dedicated individual to fill a Full Time Assistant Liquor Manager position! The Assistant Liquor Manager is to assist in managing the Liquor Store in promoting sales, achieving sales goals, profit margins and labor goals.
Job Responsibilities:
• Assists customers and ensures proper service levels and courtesy from all associates.
• Organizes, directs and assists work of stock crew.
• Assists in planning and implementation of department merchandising plans.
• Orders product for Liquor department.
• Assists with training and evaluation of Liquor department personnel.
• Assists in monitoring and directing safety, sanitation and loss prevention standards in the department.
• Participates in receiving function and back room organization.
• Follows all store and department policies and procedures.
• Responsible for assisting with ongoing department planning, execution and evaluation in order to ensure maximum sales, effective cost control and efficient utilization of labor.
• Collaborates with Liquor Manager in Departmental goal setting.
• Oversees the Department in the absence of the Liquor Manager.
Job Requirements:
• Equipment operation (scanner, register, check approval machine, coupon machine, intercom, calculator, etc.)
• Able to walk long distances and stand for long periods of time
• Memorization, reading, writing and math
• The position requires on-going customer interaction, providing prompt, courteous and accurate service.
• Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.
• Have the ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions; write identifying information; request supplies verbally or in writing.
• Must be able to work shifts varying in length and time, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Associate's degree or above preferred.
• Retail experience preferred.
• Comprehensive knowledge and experience in all aspects of department operations.
• Previous knowledge and experience with sales of beer, wine and spirits helpful.
Physical Requirements:
• Lifting/carrying up to 70 lbs.
• Pushing/pulling up to 2500 lbs.
• Walking on uneven ground
• Reaching, bending, repetitive motions
Schedule:
• Requires open availability
• Requires at least one evening shift between Friday to Sunday
