Job description

Robotics Contractor (Automation Scientist)

Must have: Candidate with technical expertise with liquid handler/robotic instruments (Beckman/Hamilton) would be a good fit.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences, Engineering, or equivalent scientific degree with a laboratory background.
  • Master's degree in life sciences, Engineering, or equivalent scientific degree with a laboratory background.

Experience required:

  • With Bachelor's degree, minimum 3 years of experience.
  • With Master's degree minimum 2 years of experience.

Required skills:

  • Experience with laboratory liquid handler (Beckman/Hamilton).
  • Use of electronic laboratory notebooks.
  • Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).

Preferred skills:

  • Experience in cell culture and cell-based assays such as ELISpot, flow cytometry-based assays, or PBMC isolation.
  • Working experience in a regulated environment (GxP, preferably GLP) and instrument validation experience.

Note:

This will be an year assignment with possibility of extension.

Responsibilities:

  • This specific position will support the development of automated platforms and assays to support regulated bioanalysis and analytical development.
  • The individual should have a knowledge of the principles and concepts of various techniques to assist in integration and operation of various liquid handlers and laboratory equipment, facilitate assay data results, and produce visualization to assess assay results.
  • The successful candidate will provide solutions to experiments with laboratory equipment and automation and sample preparation as needed.
  • The responsibilities of the Scientist will be to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment to operate automated laboratory equipment and systems to the support of the vaccines and biologics pre-clinical and clinical studies in a regulated environment.
  • The candidate will be able to execute bioanalytical methods on automated systems to support pre-clinical and clinical studies.
  • Operate and integrate various automated systems and laboratory equipment.
  • Operational troubleshooting and error recovery for laboratory equipment.
  • Follow/Develop Assay SOPs including robotic operations.
  • Work in a structured environment under direct to moderate supervision.
  • Adhere to GLP regulations and safety requirements in BSL-2.
  • Contribute to the validation and implementation of client automated workflows.
