THE POSITION
The First Line Cook is responsible for assisting with day-to-day operations of the kitchen suites team in an environment that mixes banquet and line cooking together including bulk preparation and fast pate firing. The role requires a strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards and protocols as this role will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Daily cooking and preparation of food using multiple cooking techniques;
- Prepare hot plates, cold plates, sauces;
- Perform a variety of butchering tasks such as trimming roasts, cutting ribs, chicken, etc.;
- Ensure proper storage, handling, and use of food inventories;
- Maintain a high standard of safety and sanitation as governed by standards and protocols;
- Communicate with kitchen staff, cooks, Suites Chefs, and the executive chef;
- Follow instructions as directed by supervisors, Suites chef, and the executive chef;
- Work with other departments and needed

THE INDIVIDUAL
The ideal individual will have the following background:
- 5+ years restaurant or hotel cook experience required;
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills;
- High attention to detail and strong ability to maintain an organized kitchen;
- Vast knowledge of kitchen terminology;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks at once;
- Strong interpersonal and team work skills.
CERTIFICATIONS
- Formal culinary training is considered an asset;
- High school diploma is considered an asset.
