Landscape Architecture Project Manager (PLA), Houston, TX or The Woodlands, TX
Halff is seeking a Landscape Architecture Project Manager in the Houston, TX or The Woodlands, TX office. The ideal candidate would have their Professional Landscape Architect (PLA) registration and bring at least 8 years of experience working on the following project types: park, recreation and trail planning and design; urban park, plaza, streetscape and transportation enhancements; land development; and support for large scale planning projects. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative environment to help clients plan, design and implement projects. This position offers an excellent professional development opportunity for someone looking to grow with Halff, with potential for not only business and personal growth, but ownership in the firm.
What you will do:
  • Manage projects from planning through delivery, collaborating with project members, multi-practice teams, subconsultants and other stakeholders to make sure deliverables, requirements, schedules, costs and meeting plans are communicated.
  • Work with design teams and consultants through all design stages from concept through construction.
  • Lead teams to complete projects while meeting deadlines and budget requirements.
  • Produce CD sets including hardscape, planting, construction details and preparation of specifications and bidding packages.
  • Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team of landscape architects, planners and others, to provide management on a wide variety of public and private landscape architectural projects.
  • Assist in development and management of project scopes, budgets, and schedules.
  • Support in preparation of proposals and RFQs.
  • Manage quality assurance and control analysis to ensure projects meet or exceed client expectations and Halff requirements and comply with recognized standards and codes of practice.
  • Apply technical expertise appropriately by understanding project specific standards, criteria, deliverables and best practices.
  • Monitor project budgets, allocate resources effectively, and identify opportunities to optimize project efficiency and profitability.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients, understanding their needs, and ensuring client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to landscape designers, landscape architects, and technical staff, fostering a culture of trust and collaboration within project team.

What you will need:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in landscape architecture from an accredited university
  • Texas registration as a Professional Landscape Architect
  • At least 8 years of experience in Landscape Architecture
  • Ability to travel periodically primarily in state to support project needs
  • Experience with construction methodologies and implementation
  • Well organized, detail oriented and highly motivated
  • Be able to anticipate the needs of clients and projects
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Have excellent design skills
  • Be proficient with computer applications including AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office
