UPMC's Ortho and Sports Medicine office is seeking a Medical Assistant to join their team! The ideal candidate for our high-volume orthopedic practice is highly organized, efficient, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy in documentation and patient care tasks. They demonstrate strong clinical skills, including rooming patients, assisting with procedures (e.g., injections, cast/splint application), and anticipating provider needs to keep workflows moving smoothly. Strong communication, teamwork, and a patient-centered approach are essential, along with the ability to adapt quickly to changing schedules and priorities.
This full-time position will work day shift, Monday through Friday. No holidays, evenings or weekends are required. Occasional travel to other office locations may be required.
Title and starting pay rate of this position may vary based on years of experience.
Responsibilities:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Must have basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology, examination, diagnostic and treatment room responsibilities.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
- CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
- Act 33 with renewal
- Act 34 with renewal
- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
