Dental Laboratory Assistant

Reports to:Lab Manager

Second Nature Dental Innovations serves Dentists throughout Canada including Toronto, Sudbury, Windsor, Montreal, Halifax, Calgary, Winnipeg, Edmonton, and Vancouver.


Core Responsibilities:

  • Fabricate, repair, and modify dental appliances, including dentures, occlusal rims, and custom trays.
  • Pour, articulate, and process dental models for crowns, bridges, and dentures.
  • Invest and divest dental prosthetic components.
  • Trim, polish, and finish acrylic and other dental materials.
  • Cross-train in all areas of the dental laboratory to support various tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control procedures by disinfecting cases and work areas.
  • Collaborate with team members to complete dental cases efficiently.
  • Mould wax over denture set-up to form full contours of artificial gums.
  • Finish metal framework of dentures and polish and buff dentures to obtain natural finish.


Other Responsibilities:

  • Maintain department supplies, materials, and equipment; report malfunctions.
  • Monitor and maintain laboratory equipment such as plaster traps.
  • Keep the workspace clean, organized, and safe.
  • Record and track completed work, including scanning barcodes.
  • Communicate clearly with team members to coordinate workflow.
