Job description

Position Summary
Under the clinical supervision of the medical Director for Neurophysiology and the overall supervision of the neurophysiology Supervisor, the Intra-Operative (IOM) Technologist provides safe, expedient and cost effective services. As a member of a team of professionals, an IOM Technologist monitors the functional integrity of the nervous system throughout various surgical procedures to reduce the risk of neurological deficits. IOM Technologists are required to document factual, accurate, complete, timely, legal information about the care they provide to each patient, as well as bill the patient correctly for services provided.
Minimum Requirements

  • Associates degree in Neurodiagnostics or allied health, and/or BS degree required
  • R. EEG T., and/or R. EP T. required
  • Must have at least 2-3 years experience in the field of Neurodiagnostics..
Clinical Ladder
Neuro IOM Technologist I:
  • Associate Degree in an Allied Health program required
  • R. EEG T., and/or R. EP T. required
  • 1-3 years employment experience in a hospital required
  • 1 + years IOM experience preferred
Neuro IOM Technologist II:
  • Associates degree in Neurodiagnostics or allied health, and/or BS degree required
  • R. EEG T., and/or R. EP T. required
  • Must have at least 2-3 years experience in the field of Neurodiagnostics.
Neuro IOM Technologist III:
  • Associates degree in Neurodiagnostic or allied health and/or BS is required.
  • Must have CNIM as well as one of the following two registries: R. EEG T. or R. EP T
  • Must have at least 3 - 5 years experience in the field of Neurodiagnostics.
Neuro IOM Technologist IV:
  • Associates degree in Neurodiagnostic or allied health and/or BS degree is required- or higher.
  • Must have CNIM as well as one of the following two registries: R. EEG T. or R. EP T.
  • Must have at least 5 years experience in the field of Neurodiagnostics.
Other Information
  • Primary Shift: Day
  • 4, 10-hour shifts: 6:30am - 5:00pm during the week
  • Approximately 7-8 call days each month including call weekend (rotating)
  • On Call: Yes
  • Weekends: No
  • IMPORTANT: While this role is advertised as Neuro IOM Technologist II, the final job level will be determined based on the candidate¿s qualifications and experience. Candidates may be hired at the Neuro IOM Technologist I, II, III, or IV level depending on the minimum requirements met.
