Job Summary:

Plans, coordinates, monitors and trains the Parts & Inventory staff. Responsible for the receiving, storage, and distribution of all items received either from suppliers or production, ensuring a smooth and consistent operation.


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assist Materials Group & Supply Chain Manager by identifying work procedures, preparing work schedules, and expediting workflow for all Inventory processes and procedures.
  • Evaluate staff performance and prepare performance appraisals, directly approved through Materials Group Manager.
  • Approve bi-weekly timecards and time off requests.
  • Oversee staff in the selection of products and preparing it for same day shipping both nationally and internationally.
  • Examine all inventory work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
  • Study and standardize procedures to improve efficiency of staff.
  • Receive and stock materials from UPS, air shipments, container shipments, etc. using a forklift/crane as required.
  • Assists with and monitors Material Transaction Entries to support any type of production work order.
  • Facilitate and support KANBAN process with the manufacturing floor.
  • Facilitate department supplies via MRO processes (boxes, shipping labels, etc.)
  • Assist in all parts and inventory duties when needed.
  • Support the Parts department in filling sales orders and assure shipment on a timely basis.
  • UPS/FEDEX online shipping of letters, parts, materials, equipment, etc. any items that relate to business.
  • Insure the timely entry of all Transactions.
  • Assists the Materials Group & Supply Chain Manager with planning and participates in year-end inventory project.
  • Drive and organize Cycle Counting as an ongoing department requirement.
  • Must be available, as needed, to work additional hours for inventory reorganization or related inventory projects.
  • Complete all assigned tasks in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Maintain a "Customer Friendly" and professional attitude when dealing with internal and external customers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Requirements:

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Operate Forklifts and Cranes in a safe manner to receive, stock or release items
  • Ability to plan and organize, maintain records, meet schedules and timelines, safety practices and related software applications.
  • Must have a strong knowledge of Shipping, Receiving, Warehouse, Material Handling operations, methods, documentation, and practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems and inventory management software
  • Candidate must be able to work effectively on your own and as a team player.


Education and Experience:

  • A.S. Degree or 6-8 yearsโ€™ experience in similar leadership position.


Physical Requirements:

  • Periods of walking and sitting
  • Ability to twist/turn, stoop/bend/squat, push/pull/reach
  • Lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent standing, repetitive hand/wrist movement, forearm rotation
