Job description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: To provide exceptional customer service at all times while assisting the General Manager with a wide range of tasks and assignments, including but not limited to equine health and well-being, the smooth operation of public trail rides, staff communication, and ensuring safe and quality interpretive experiences. The Assistant Barn Manager is able to pleasantly manage a flexible and ever changing list of duties and responsibilities while upholding the P3 philosophy.

STATUS & COMPENSATION:
  • Full Time (3240 hours/week), $16.00$18.00/hr
  • PTO/PSL
  • Vision, Dental, Health
  • REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Must hold a valid driver's license.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of advanced training in both horsemanship and riding skills.
  • Must be able to life 50 pounds to shoulder height without assistance.
  • Ability to work full days in outdoor weather conditions typical of Florida.
  • Possess effective and professional communication skills.
  • Previous management experience is preferred.
  • RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Fulfill duties for Lead Wrangler.
  • Ensure the safe operation of the area on a daily basis.
  • Uphold the highest level of customer service and quality control.
  • Supervise Hitching Post operations during assigned shifts.
  • Fulfill the duties of a Lead Trail Guide.
  • Assist with equine nutrition and feed schedule by observing and collaborating on equine body condition and performance, make adjustments to feed and care schedules, and preparing feed orders.
  • Participate in the overall care routine by observing the physical and mental health of each horse and making assigned adjustments to care, grooming, and work routines.
  • Oversee the care and notes logs.
  • Maintain horse work logs, and important notes section.
  • Maintain barn organizational systems.
  • Make adjustments to feed and supply delivery orders as assigned.
  • Participate in the Safety Committee
  • Participate in planning and execution of all Equine related events.
  • Assist with and/or coordinate facility maintenance and fence repair.
  • Assist with and/or coordinate mowing and weed control.
