About the Role
Hello, Sign Language Interpreters! Ampersand Therapy is hiring Sign Language Interpreters for a school-based position in Lisle, IL for the 2026-2027 School Year. You'll support students by providing interpreting services in American Sign Language (ASL) throughout the school day. This role is ideal for either experienced school ASL interpreters or those new to the school setting.

What You'll Do:
  • Provide direct one-on-one interpretation in ASL for a student(s) throughout the school day
  • Facilitate communication between the student, peers, and staff
  • Support access to curriculum and social interactions in the classroom
  • Collaborate with the student's educational team

What We Are Looking For :
  • Approval by ISBE as sign language interpreter at Initial, Standard or Master Level
  • Ability to interpret/transliterate for deaf or hard of hearing students in classrooms
  • Working knowledge of the Code of Ethics of the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf
  • Fingerprinting required prior to start
  • School-based experience preferred but not required
