Job Opening:
The Department of Conservation and Recreation, seeks applicants for a Park Assistant Intern (Unpaid Contracted Student Interns) for 2026 Fall Semester to perform the duties listed below on a part-time basis.

This internship is unpaid and designed to support students or recent graduates seeking practical experience in the field. Interns may be eligible to earn academic credit through their college or university.
General Statement of Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintaining facilities and equipment. Landscaping. Interacting with the public and assisting visitors. Assisting in the parks invasive plant removal and rewilding programs. Intern will gain knowledge of park management practices, ecology, hospitality and landscaping.

Detailed Statement of Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assisting in invasive plant removal and habitat restoration.
  • Cleaning and maintaining facilities as needed.
  • Light landscaping and trail maintenance.
  • Assisting visitors as needed.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
  • Knowledge of native flora and fauna and invasive plants.
  • Some familiarity with hand tools, cleaning and maintenance.
  • Landscaping experience.
  • Intern will be provided with instruction if not familiar with any of these skills.
