Job description

Norel Service Company is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented, and motivated Human Resources Assistant Intern who is genuinely interested in building a career in Human Resources.

This is an opportunity to gain practical, hands-on experience in HR while supporting important companywide projects. The primary focus of the internship will be employee-record digitization and HR administration. As the intern develops familiarity with our systems, processes, and organization, there may be opportunities to gain exposure to additional areas of HR, including onboarding, HRIS administration, employee records, compliance support, and other HR projects.

We are especially interested in someone who is looking for more than a short-term internship and wants to learn, contribute, develop professionally, and grow with an organization.

This position is temporary and part-time, and a future full-time or permanent opportunity is not guaranteed. However, based on business needs, performance, qualifications, and mutual fit, the company may consider the intern for future employment opportunities as they become available.

The position is fully in person at Norelโ€™s Littleton, Massachusetts office and reports directly to the HR Manager. The intern may support HR projects for both Norel Service Company and its affiliated company, NSG Life Safety, which are under common ownership.

  • Compare physical and digital employee files against established HR file checklists.
  • Identify missing, incomplete, duplicate, illegible, or potentially misfiled documents for review by the HR Manager.
  • Organize and maintain physical employee files throughout the digitization process.
  • Maintain an accurate project tracker showing completed files, uploaded documents, and outstanding items.

HR Administration & HRIS Support

  • As you become familiar with our processes, you may also assist with:
  • HRIS implementation and employee data entry.
  • Document migration and data validation.
  • Employee onboarding support.
  • Preparing new-hire paperwork and onboarding materials.
  • Organizing completed onboarding documentation.
  • Maintaining HR records and documentation.
  • Supporting HR administrative projects.
  • Developing organizational and administrative skills through hands-on HR work.
