Volt is immediately hiring for Quality Inspector at Devens, Massachusetts 01434-
As a Quality Inspector, you will:
The auditor conducts in-process quality checks on finished goods and provides real-time feedback to operators and production teams. Additionally, this person will support general production needs in their assigned department. The role supports the organization's commitment to continuous improvement, customer satisfaction, and prevention of quality incidents.
Key Responsibilities
  • Audit Execution
  • Conduct audits in assigned production areas according to established protocols.
  • Complete all sections of audit documentation accurately and thoroughly (as necessary).
  • Submit completed audit forms to Quality Management or Departmental Supervisor at the end of each shift or audit day.
  • Independently perform quality checks and measurements on critical-to-quality characteristics throughout production runs.
  • Conduct independent strike box evaluations at the beginning, end of production runs.
  • Verify execution of pre-startup quality activities before production begins.
  • Quality Issue Identification and Escalation
  • Identify process gaps, non-conformances, and quality risks.
  • Immediately notify production supervision when non-compliant conditions are observed.
  • Work collaboratively with production personnel to stop production when necessary to prevent the release of defective products.
  • Ensure suspect material is identified, isolated, and managed according to Non-Conforming Material Control requirements.

Production Support As needed.
  • Provide support to machine operators in order readiness or machine setup
  • Assist in any necessary quality sort activities
  • Provide general production support, as needed or as assigned by the departmental manager or supervisor

Required
  • Demonstrated understanding of manufacturing quality systems and quality control practices.
  • Knowledge of non-conforming material handling procedures and corrective action processes.
  • Strong observation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain objectivity during audits.

Preferred
  • Experience in corrugated packaging manufacturing.
  • Experience performing quality audits, inspections, or quality assurance activities.

This is a full-time, contract opportunity.
Schedule: 1st shift 5am to 1pm
2nd shift 1pm-9 pm
3rd shift 9pm- 5 am

Payrate Range in Between - $19.00- $21.26/hour
