Job description

We are seeking a knowledgeable Quality Engineer to join our team at Glenn Metalcraft.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to ensure quality requirements are integrated into manufacturing processes.
  • Analyze information objectively and act in the best interests of the company and customer.
  • Support, promote, and reinforce the Quality Management System
  • Initiate/assist with CAPAs, NCMRs, and ECRs.
  • Prepare documentation for new part builds including Initial Sample Inspection Reports, bubble drawings, control plans, etc.
  • Provide training on inspection tools/equipment.
  • Provide on time and accurate Faro Arm programming if applicable.
  • Prepare professional inspection documentation per customer required inspection plans.
  • Maintain inspection equipment and ensure that all measurement tools are calibrated and in good working condition.
  • Assist in measuring in-process production parts and inspection, including random quality checks.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and recommend solutions to enhance product quality and efficiency. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Utilize Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques to monitor and analyze process data, interpret control charts, and identify variations or trends.
  • Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) meetings to address and resolve quality issues related to non-conforming materials and products.
  • Assist in implementing and sustaining 5S practices to enhance workplace organization and efficiency.
  • Provide department support and assist in projects as directed by Quality Systems Manager

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Quality Engineer role
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of PPAP documentation
  • Background in manufacturing and manufacturing procedures

Skills and Competencies

  • Communication skills – verbal, written, interpersonal
  • Strong computer skills and software knowledge
  • Ability to prioritize effectively
  • Process auditing experience preferred
  • Standards knowledge – ISO 9001
  • Working knowledge of inspection techniques and philosophies 
  • Thorough understanding of GD&T
  • Proficiency with SPC software

  • Lift document storage boxes up to 25 lbs. occasionally
  • Ability to stand for up to 4 hours
  • Excellent hand/eye coordination
