Job Summary:

The Quality Control Inspector is accountable for the practical application of the internal Quality Control System. This position ensures that the quality standards as defined by the designers are met on the shop floor as well as with materials and services supplied by outside vendors.

Essential Functions:

1. Perform incoming, in-process, first-piece, and final inspection activities to verify product conformance to work orders, travelers, drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.

2. Inspect fabricated, machined, formed, assembled, and finished components using appropriate inspection methods and measuring equipment.

3. Use calipers, micrometers, height gauges, protractors, thread gauges, pin gauges, radius gauges, tape measures, and other inspection tools as required.

4. Verify dimensional, cosmetic, fit, form, and finish requirements for parts and assemblies, including sheet metal, machined parts, press brake components, hardware, and final assemblies.

5. Accurately record inspection results, nonconforming conditions, and required quality documentation in accordance with company procedures.

6. Identify and segregate suspected nonconforming products to prevent unintended use or shipment.

7. Communicate inspection findings to the Quality Manager, Quality Technician, Quality Engineer, Production Supervisor, or other appropriate personnel.

8. Support production personnel by answering inspection-related questions and helping verify product requirements during manufacturing.

9. Perform routine spot checks and layered inspection activities as directed to monitor production quality.

10. Assist with reinspection of reworked products to verify that corrective action or rework has brought the product back into conformance.

11. Maintain inspection equipment in good working condition and notify quality leadership of damaged, missing, or out-of-calibration equipment.

12. Follow all applicable quality procedures, safety requirements, and work instructions.

Minimum Qualifications

· 1-2 years of quality control, inspection, fabrication, machining, sheet metal, press brake, welding, assembly, or a related manufacturing environment preferred.

· High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training, manufacturing coursework, or related certification preferred.

· Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, travelers, inspection plans, and basic dimensional requirements.

· Experience using common hand inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, thread gauges, and protractors.

· Basic understanding of manufacturing processes such as assembly, machining, forming, press brake operation, welding, finishing, and hardware installation.

· Basic computer skills and ability to accurately enter inspection results, notes, and quality records.

· Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to work effectively with production, engineering, and quality personnel.
