Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Aerospace Quality Control Inspector to join our growing team. In this role, you will inspect aerospace components throughout the manufacturing process to ensure they meet engineering drawings, customer specifications, and the highest quality standards.

The ideal candidate has experience working in a precision manufacturing or aerospace environment, is proficient in blueprint reading and dimensional inspection, and has experience using precision measuring equipment, including a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) Arm.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect incoming materials, in-process components, and finished aerospace parts to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections using precision measuring instruments.
  • Operate a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) Arm to verify part dimensions and tolerances.
  • Complete First Article Inspections (FAIs) and maintain accurate inspection reports and quality documentation.
  • Identify nonconforming materials or products and communicate required corrective actions to production personnel.
  • Verify reworked parts meet all quality requirements before final approval.
  • Conduct material hardness testing.
  • Calibrate and maintain inspection and measuring equipment while maintaining calibration records.
  • Apply required product identification and final part markings.
  • Prepare completed products for shipment.
  • Assist with light assembly as needed.
  • Update and maintain shop travelers and production documentation.
  • Assist with part layout for hand mill cuts.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment while following all company safety policies and aerospace quality standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous experience as a Quality Inspector in an aerospace or precision manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience operating a CMM Arm or similar coordinate measuring equipment preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, GD&T, and process control documents (PCMs).
  • Working knowledge of precision measuring tools, including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and indicators.
  • Experience completing First Article Inspection (FAI) documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
  • Basic computer, math, and analytical skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
