Quality Inspector
Meteor Sealing Systems LLC, has been in business for over 20 years and is one of the top leaders of automotive sealing systems for respected and luxurious vehicles. Considering our continued growth and fast-paced environment, we are looking for a Quality Lab Technician to join our team. We are currently seeking a Quality Lab Technician to provide support to Meteor Sealing Systems, LLC manufacturing team. The Quality Lab Technician will support daily quality activities and processes in relation to production and scheduling requirements. Will support manufacturing process issues in order to achieve and maintain quality standards that meet the expectations of our customers.
Shift Availability:
2nd Shift (3pm – 11pm)
3rd shift (11pm - 7am)
OT and Weekends
Essential Job Functions and Basic Duties:
  • Responsible for Statistical Process Controls (SPC) for extrusion and finishing departments. Support daily management activities and manufacturing process issues through lab inspections, tests, and special projects.
  • Perform physical testing on parts and various other raw materials. Update and create test procedures/software for testing. Verify acceptance of incoming materials through certification and testing.
  • Assist with process control plans, process flow diagrams, and process FMEA’s using IQRM software. Handle and monitor supplier evaluations and supplier complaints. Assist in the implementation of quality goals.
  • Read and comprehend various material specifications outlined in engineering standards and specifications. Prepare certificate of conformance sheets for shipments as appropriate. Keep well documented files on projects, inspections, and tests.
  • Handle capability studies and MSA. Monitor all in-house quality processes.
  • Assist Quality Team Leaders when necessary.
  • Responsibilities also include Laboratory Scope, External Laboratory Management, Quality Lab In-Process Testing, Supplier Management, Supplier Development, Supplier Monitoring, Monitor amp; Measure Product – Receiving, Receiving Inspection, Material Certifications, Supplier PPAP, APQP, IMDS Submissions, and short notice Customer support.
  • Must be able to read and write in English
Preferred Education and Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Quality Experience in a Manufacturing Environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity of process flow as it relates to lean manufacturing.
  • The ability to consistently meet deadlines is required.
  • Effective verbal, non-verbal, negotiation, and written communication skills are required.
  • The ability to sustain a high degree of professionalism while interacting with internal and external customers is required.
  • Effective attention to detail, problem solving, analytical, and organizational skills are required.
  • Experience with IATF-16949 and ISO-9001 is preferred.
