Network Infrastructure Administrator-Brazos Electric Power Cooperative- Waco, TexasWhat You’ll Do

Brazos Electric Cooperative is seeking an experienced Network Infrastructure Administrator to support, maintain, and enhance enterprise network infrastructure. This position serves as a senior technical resource within Information Services and is responsible for the administration, security, reliability, and performance of enterprise networking systems including LAN/WAN infrastructure, firewalls, VPN technologies, wireless networks, and related infrastructure platforms. The successful candidate will provide advanced troubleshooting and operational support, lead infrastructure initiatives, participate in network architecture and technology planning, and collaborate closely with Cybersecurity personnel to maintain a secure and resilient environment supporting business operations.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Administer and support enterprise network infrastructure including switching, routing, wireless, firewall, and VPN technologies.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve complex network and infrastructure issues.
  • Lead and participate in network infrastructure projects from planning through implementation.
  • Implement and maintain network security controls, segmentation, secure remote access, and infrastructure hardening initiatives.
  • Coordinate with Cybersecurity personnel on shared security technologies and threat protection initiatives.
  • Perform infrastructure lifecycle management activities including upgrades, patching, equipment replacement, and vendor coordination.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, standards, procedures, and network diagrams.
  • Serve as a Tier 3 escalation point and provide technical guidance and mentoring to other Information Services staff.
  • Assist with infrastructure planning, technology evaluation, and operational improvement initiatives.

What You'll Bring:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, 5 years’ experienceOR Associates degree, 7 years’ experience OR high school diploma, 9 years’ experience
  • Experience supporting enterprise networking technologies including routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, wireless infrastructure, and network security.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco, or similar credentials.
  • Experience with infrastructure automation and scripting tools such as PowerShell.
