Job description

OVERVIEW
The Policy Service Associate I will provide administrative and clerical support to department members. Works directly with Account Managers to assist in processing client requests for service; processing endorsements, cancellations, and binders; requesting worksheets and experience modifications at renewal; verifying and maintaining account files. Assist with maintaining client relationships. Learning to use carrier websites for online quoting. Learning to become more independent and proficient at tasks performed for others for the purpose of serving clients directly in the future and handling own book of business. The Policy Service Associate I takes primary direction from assigned mentor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential duties contained in this job description reflect general details as necessary to describe the principal functions of this job, the level of knowledge and skill typically required and the scope of responsibility. Individuals may perform other duties as assigned, including work in other functional areas to cover absences, equalize peak work periods or otherwise to balance the workload.
  • Clerical duties with minimal errors, e.g., filing, mail preparation, data entry, photocopying, etc.
  • Assist Sales Executives and/or Account Managers with tasks as assigned
  • Assist with processing client service requests, endorsements, cancellations, certificates of insurance and binders
  • Prepare proposals for presentation
  • Check in policies for accuracy and communicate variances with Account Manager
  • Assist in maintaining and verifying accurate records
  • Review monthly renewals in advance and assist in renewal processing
  • Prepare and maintain relevant reports (Example: download report)
  • Provide backup support for Administrative Assistants
  • Good written and verbal communication
  • Ability to interact and communicate positively with co-workers
  • Any other duties as appropriate and assigned by management

Licensing or certification Requirements
  • MUST obtain current Property/Casualty or Life/Health License (depending on department alignment) in resident state within 120 days of hire; includes maintaining by meeting all continuation education and other requirements

work and education experience requirements:
  • 2+ years' office experience
  • High school diploma or equivalency; some college preferred
