Description
We are seeking a Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Urology team. In this role, you will work closely with the Urologist and care team to provide high-quality, patient-centered care. You'll play a vital role in diagnosing, treating, and supporting patients with a variety of urologic conditions while contributing to a collaborative and supportive clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities
โ€ข Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including medical histories, physical exams, and diagnostic evaluations
โ€ข Assist in diagnosing and treating urologic conditions such as kidney stones, urinary tract infections, incontinence, erectile dysfunction, and prostate disorders
โ€ข Perform or assist with urologic procedures, including cystoscopies, catheter placements/replacements, bladder scans, and urodynamic studies
โ€ข Provide preoperative and postoperative care, including patient education and follow-up
โ€ข Document patient care through progress notes, orders, and prescriptions in the electronic medical record (EMR)
โ€ข Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to coordinate care plans
โ€ข Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, medications, and ongoing care
โ€ข Respond to patient inquiries and manage follow-up communications, including secure messaging platforms
โ€ข Participate in departmental and hospital-wide quality improvement initiatives
โ€ข Ensure compliance with hospital policies and all applicable state, federal, and CMS regulations
โ€ข Maintain strict patient confidentiality in accordance with privacy standards

Qualifications
โ€ข Current State of Maine Physician Assistant license
โ€ข Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
โ€ข Active and valid DEA license

โ€ข Willing to train strong candidates with a minimum of 3 years' practical experience
Compensation
โ€ข Base Salary $175,000 annually
โ€ข Sign on Bonus eligible $25,000
