Job Summary

The School of Nursing at Saint Peter's University invites applications for a full-time Director and Faculty, Bachelor of Science in Nursing position. The Director is responsible for the leadership, administration, and continuous quality improvement of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program while serving as a full-time faculty member dedicated to educating and mentoring undergraduate nursing students.

Working collaboratively with faculty, staff, clinical partners, and University leadership, the Director oversees curriculum implementation, program outcomes, student success initiatives, accreditation and regulatory compliance, and continuous program assessment. Faculty responsibilities include classroom, laboratory, simulation, online, and clinical instruction; evaluation of student performance; and fostering the knowledge, clinical skills, critical thinking, and professional behaviors essential for safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing practice.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to academic excellence, student success, faculty collaboration, and the mission and values of Saint Peter's University while preparing graduates to meet the evolving healthcare needs of diverse communities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with University leadership to secure appropriate staffing, clinical placements, technology, and facilities.

  • Recruit, hire, and mentor faculty and professional staff.

  • Manage the program’s budget, scheduling, and compliance with institutional and accreditation standards.

  • Engage in long-term strategic planning to ensure sustainability and excellence.

  • Teach undergraduate -level Nursing courses in the candidate’s area of expertise.

  • Advise and mentor students, and participate in admissions and recruitment.

  • Contribute to scholarly activity and serve on departmental and university committees.

  • Develop syllabi and course materials in alignment with program learning outcomes

  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support institutional and departmental goals

Salary Range: $85,000 - $90,000

Qualification Standards:

Required:

  • Master's degree with a major in Nursing from a Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or Accreditation Commission on Education in Nursing (ACEN) accredited program

  • Current, unencumbered RN license  

  • A minimum of 5 years of clinical and didactic teaching expertise.

  • Demonstrated expertise in the course subject area

  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Commitment to excellence in bachelor-level teaching and student engagement

Preferred:

  • Doctoral degree (DNP, PhD, EdD) in Nursing 

  • Bachelor-level teaching experience

  • Experience teaching in an online or hybrid learning environment

  • Advanced practice certification (if applicable)
