Description
Christian Academy of Knoxville (CAK) is seeking dedicated teachers who are spiritually sensitive and aligned with the school's mission and philosophy. Candidates must be born-again Christians who demonstrate spiritual maturity, academic excellence, and leadership ability to faithfully teach God's truth.
Successful applicants will possess strong subject-matter expertise, effective instructional strategies, and well-developed organizational and communication skills. They should be able to engage with diverse individuals, handle confidential information with discretion, and consistently model professionalism, respect, and integrity. Knowledge of current research on learning and brain development, along with the ability to apply these insights in the classroom, is highly valued.

Requirements
The Computer Science teacher at Christian Academy of Knoxville (CAK) will teach middle school courses across 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. Core classes introduce students to computer systems, keyboarding, web design, and robotics coding, while elective courses provide opportunities for deeper exploration in robotics, computer programming, and 3D printing. The teacher will also co-lead the after-school Robotics team and assist with monitoring or leading PE courses as needed. A Computer Science endorsement is preferred, and summer curriculum training is available.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Delivering engaging instruction through lectures, demonstrations, audiovisual aids, hands-on experiments, and supplemental materials.
  • Developing course objectives and outlines aligned with state and school curriculum standards.
  • Assigning lessons, evaluating student work, and providing timely feedback.
  • Administering assessments, recording results, and communicating progress to parents.
  • Maintaining accurate attendance records and fostering a disciplined, respectful classroom environment.
  • Meeting with parents to discuss student progress and concerns.
  • Actively participating in faculty meetings, professional development workshops, and educational conferences.
  • Supporting extracurricular activities, student organizations, and academic counseling.
  • Collaborating with teachers, staff, and parents to strengthen the school community.
