Job description

Simpson & Mena, P.A. is seeking a highly organized, motivated Legal Assistant/Paralegal to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced legal environment and is looking for long-term career growth within the legal field.

The ideal candidate is reliable under pressure, adaptable to changing priorities, and brings exceptional communication, organizational, and administrative skills to support our attorneys and legal staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule hearings, depositions, mediations, and conference calls
  • Maintain heavy calendaring and manage high-volume phone communications
  • Coordinate dates and logistics with opposing counsel
  • Arrange court reporters, videographers, and interpreters for hearings and depositions
  • Prepare and draft notices including Notices of Hearing, Depositions, and Mediations
  • Provide administrative support and assist secretarial staff with projects and tasks
  • Maintain accurate electronic and paper filing systems
  • Sort, process, and send incoming and outgoing mail
  • Initiate, answer, and properly route all phone calls
  • Perform additional administrative duties as assigned

Qualifications & Preferences

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and time-management abilities
  • Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines
  • Proficiency in computers and business software
  • Prior experience in family law and/or immigration litigation strongly preferred
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Local candidates preferred
  • Genuine interest in the legal profession and long-term career commitment
