ABOUT THE POSITION

Our Merchandise coordinators work closely with SG’s Merchandise Managers, Buyers and Assistant Buyers assisting in all business functions related to the buying process, catalog pagination, Internet ad creation and product development.  This role plays a critical part in ensuring the accurate setup, maintenance, and optimization of products within the hunting, shooting, ammunition, and firearms categories to drive sales, compliance, and a best-in-class customer experience.                                                                                                               

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

·       Develops an understanding of merchant team strategies and goals and relays them into actionable tasks that will assist in daily planning and administrative responsibilities of assigned categories

       Ensure accuracy and completeness of product data across firearms, ammunition, optics, shooting accessories, as well as Fishing and Camping assortments. 

·       Works effectively with internal and external cross functional teams to create best in class product content and sales

·       Provides exceptional presentation in all sales channels that allow customers to make informed purchasing decisions  

·       Will organize and translate data to support the merchant team’s decision-making strategy

·       Assists in creation of presentations to communicate merchant team initiatives throughout the organization

·       Will develop a detailed product knowledge and understanding to support in item setup and develop presentation strategies

·       Will obtain a strong understanding of the outdoor industry; customers, trends and brand landscape to drive effective communication to internal and external partners

·       Responsible for tracking product samples

·       Will be responsible for prioritizing and tracking various merchandising tasks

·       Maintains effective communication with supervisor to report developments, issues, and other related information  

·       Coordinates plans and activities with others, as appropriate to support a positive work effort and collaborative approach

·       Performs other related work as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE      

·       Experience in merchandising, eCommerce, retail, or related field.

·       Knowledge and experience in the outdoor industry prefered 

·       Has a Resilient and entrepreneurial approach

·       Ability to work independently and in a team environment

·       Ability to work collaboratively across functional areas

·       Ability to manage multiple projects effectively

·       Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

·       Ability to recognize and communicate product value propositions 

·       Ability to analyze and organize data and translate the knowledge into actionable tasks and decisions

·       Willingness to learn and take on new tasks as needed to grow skill set

·       Excellent computer skills to include Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

This is an hourly position with a pay range of $25 -$28 per hour DOQ
