Job description

Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) degree, active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license, and 1+ years Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Empower students to achieve their fullest potential as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in a K–12 educational setting. This contract opportunity offers the unique chance to support learners across multiple sites, creating a meaningful difference every day. You'll serve schools throughout Hendry County, assisting students with diverse needs while collaborating with educators, families, and other professionals.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current and active Florida Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license required
  • Prior experience in a school-based setting is preferred, though not mandatory
  • Confidence traveling between multiple school locations across the county (sites assigned before the school year)
  • Strong communication skills, flexibility, and a positive, team-oriented mindset

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver occupational therapy services to students from kindergarten through high school, following individualized education plans (IEPs) and 504 plans
  • Work one-on-one and in small groups to help students develop essential fine motor, sensory, and adaptive skills needed for classroom success
  • Collaborate frequently with occupational therapists, teachers, and school staff to adapt activities, materials, and classroom environments
  • Document session notes, progress, and updates according to district and regulatory requirements
  • Travel efficiently to assigned schools throughout Hendry County as scheduled
