Designer Assistant
Designer Assistant Job Summary
The Designer's Assistant supports the lead designer in the planning, development, and execution of design projects. This role involves administrative support, research, coordination of materials, client communication, and assistance with creative tasks to ensure projects are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign Support
  • Assist the designer in developing concepts, sketches, layouts, and presentations.
  • Prepare mood boards, design samples, and visual materials.
  • Conduct research on design trends, colors, materials, and market developments.
  • Help source fabrics, materials, furniture, graphics, or other design components, depending on the industry.
  • Maintain design files and project documentation.
Project Coordination
  • Track project timelines and deadlines.
  • Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, contractors, and clients.
  • Schedule meetings, appointments, and site visits.
  • Monitor project progress and follow up on outstanding tasks.
  • Assist in preparing project proposals and presentations.
Administrative Duties
  • Manage correspondence, emails, and phone calls.
  • Organize and maintain office records and digital files.
  • Process orders, invoices, and purchase requests.
