What is an assistant graduate gemologist?

Assistant Graduate Gemologists are professionals who support certified gemologists in the identification, grading, and appraisal of gemstones and jewelry. They often work in laboratories, jewelry stores, or auction houses, conducting preliminary examinations, maintaining gemological equipment, and assisting with documentation. Their role is crucial in ensuring accuracy and reliability in gemstone analysis, and they may also interact with clients or help prepare reports under the supervision of senior gemologists.

What skills and qualifications are needed to be an assistant graduate gemologist?

To thrive as an Assistant Graduate Gemologist, you need a solid understanding of gemology, experience in gemstone identification and grading, and typically a Graduate Gemologist diploma from a recognized institution like GIA.
