Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the General Manager, the Database Analyst is primarily responsible for organizing data within the Enterprise database and subsystems for Enterprise Management and generating reports from that data that assist management's review and implementation efforts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Provides exemplary customer service by "Exceeding Expectations One Opportunity at a Time".

2. Responsible for creating, modifying, and maintaining a Microsoft SQL Server database or other designated system database for reporting and analysis purposes.

3. Provides technical and organizational support for the Marketing, Slots and other casino departments, including but not limited to preparing post event analysis, reporting on promotions and database analytics, building offers in player tracking systems, updating existing reports, preparing lists for direct mail programs and preparing ad-hoc analysis.

4. Investigates and solves data quality issues.

5. Manipulates and sorts player lists in preparations for direct mail vendors.

6. Prepares graphical interpretation of raw data.

7. Create and modify job tasks that populate the database with relevant data from various resort and hotel systems, including but not limited to: OASIS, OPERA and MGT.

8. Utilizes gaming system modules (Presently: Super Playmate, Black Bart, Floor Logix, Omni View, Diagnostics Monitor) to ensure accuracy and precision in calculations.

9. Revises the AutoCAD map for machine installs or floor moves to update OASIS Omni View.

10. Organizes and manages data to make the data accessible for reporting with various database tools.

11. Reviews slot machine par sheet and gaming lab certifications to ensure gaming system accuracy.

12. Generates and automates delivery of custom reports for gaming commission, management, and other designated employees in the hotel, marketing, and the slot department.

13. Creates mailing lists based on criteria provided by authorized members of management.

14. Responsible for maintaining the surveillance system and the incident/infraction report databases.

15. Performs and ensures compliance with the Bay Mills Gaming Commission Rules and Regulations.

16. Other duties may be assigned within the scope and complexity of this position's essential functions.

17. This position's functions and duties may increase as position develops.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position is primarily sedentary with occasional bending and squatting. Some repetitive action using both hands may be required such as typing.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

1. Must have a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, communications or equivalent and/or a combination of education and work experience.

2. Must have three years of experience in Database Marketing.

3. Experience with Direct Mail specifications.

4. Must have the ability to read and write SQL.

5. Ability to analyze raw data to find trends and anomalies.

6. Must be proficient with a computer, including programs such as Microsoft Office, Excel and those programs designed to gather and house casino data.

7. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

8. Must have a proactive, self-motivated attitude towards learning and understanding casino mathematics.

9. Must be detail oriented and be able to work with multiple deadlines.

10. Preference to experience using AutoCad, Access, Excel, Visual Studio, & SQL Server Management Studio.

11. Must be able to obtain a gaming license through the Bay Mills Gaming Commission and maintain eligibility throughout employment.

12. To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each function listed under the essential functions and physical demands categories of this position description.

13. Must have an excellent past work history as demonstrated through employment references.

WORK SCHEDULE:

Full-time or Part-time. In addition to regular business hours, the person in this position must be flexible around the needs of the employer, which may include occasional evening and/or weekend hours or occasional travel for employer business.
