Job Summary
Corona-Norco is seeking a qualified applicant to fill the position of Assistant Coach.
Knowledge of/Ability to:
• Demonstrate successful coaching for the specific sport for which applying.
• Demonstrate knowledge of the fundamental skills and techniques, as well as the advanced techniques needed for competitive athletes.
• Demonstrate personality and character traits appropriate to educational leadership.
• Demonstrate organizational skills.
• Maintain CPR/AED/First Aid and coaching certifications.
Responsibilities:
• Serve as an instructor and guide. Follow District policies, site procedures, and CIF rules and procedures.
• Foster training in conduct, ethics, and sportsmanship for participants.
• Assist participants in the development of physical and leadership skills.
• Work closely with the assigned Head Coach to implement activities and tryouts that ensure equal opportunities for all students. Ensure that the selection process is fair, consistent and impartial.
• Supervision of team before, during, and after practices, games, and sporting events.
• Verify each team member is cleared by the Athletic Director before allowing them to try out or practice.
• Manage a safe and organized process of storage for equipment on campus.
• Maintain open communication with Head Coach.

If selected for a coaching position, all of the following items must be fully completed and approved prior to the start of employment:
1) New Hire Packet, including Mandated Report & Sexual Harassment Prevention Training
2) Create a CIF Home/ Home Campus account
3) NFHS certifications: Concussions, Heat Illness, & Sudden Cardiac Arrest
4) Current TB clearance
5) Completion of Fingerprint Livescan clearance
6) CPR/AED/First Aid Certifications must be from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Health & Safety Institute.
If applicable:
7)Cheer and Dance Safety Certification must be NFHS or USA Cheer compliant.
8) Water Safety Certification must be American Red Cross or American Lifeguard Association compliant.
Educational Requirements: Proof of High school graduation, or equivalent, or higher education must be attached to all applications. Applicants may attach official transcripts from an accredited institution in lieu of a high school diploma, or equivalent, or higher education. Any related official transcripts must be attached.
