Golf Course Assistant Superintendent
Position Summary
The Golf Course Assistant Superintendent assists in the management, maintenance, and daily operation of the resort's golf courses to ensure exceptional playing conditions and adherence to Wild Dunes Resort's AAA Four Diamond standards. This position directs and participates in all aspects of golf course maintenance, supervises grounds staff, and supports the Golf Course Superintendent in achieving operational goals.
The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent is expected to consistently provide outstanding service to internal and external guests, embody the Wild Dunes Resort culture, and promote Wild Dunes Resort as both the Destination and Employer of Choice.
Essential Functions
Golf Course Operations
  • Assist in planning, directing, and participating in the maintenance of golf course turf, landscapes, and playing surfaces.
  • Oversee day-to-day activities of the golf grounds maintenance and greenskeeping team.
  • Perform and supervise equipment operator and greenskeeper duties as needed.
  • Monitor course conditions and recommend improvements to maintain superior turf quality.
  • Assist with irrigation system design, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.
  • Assist with drainage system design, installation, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Manage daily irrigation operations and water management practices.
  • Oversee the safe handling, application, and storage of fertilizers, pesticides, and other turf management products.
  • Apply fertilizers and chemicals in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records related to irrigation, chemical applications, and maintenance activities.

Leadership & Team Development
  • Supervise, train, coach, and develop grounds maintenance personnel.
  • Assign daily work schedules and responsibilities.
  • Promote a safe work environment through training, compliance, and accountability.
  • Assist with performance management activities, including evaluations, coaching, and disciplinary actions when appropriate.
  • Motivate team members and foster a positive, productive work environment.
  • Serve as a role model for all Wild Dunes Resort colleagues.
  • Assist the Golf Course Superintendent with conducting and coordinating departmental meetings.

Guest Service & Professional Standards
  • Maintain professional grooming and uniform standards.
  • Provide exceptional guest service while interacting with resort guests, members, and colleagues.
  • Support Wild Dunes Resort's commitment to excellence and hospitality.

The colleague is accountable for all responsibilities of this position and any other duties assigned by management.
