ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include the following. Other duties may be assigned
Operational Excellence
  • Ensure that all patrons, partners, donors and guests receive exemplary customer service and enjoy an outstanding experience at the golf facilities of the Rockford Park District through the direct interaction with the customer and through the teamwork and cooperation with other staff members.
  • Greet patrons (by name whenever possible) before they acknowledge you. Welcoming patrons to the facility and thanking patrons when they leave.
  • Clean and prepare golf carts for patron use.
  • Wash and put away carts for charging and storage after use
  • Keep range ball machine stocked with golf balls
  • Clean practice facilities and range balls and prepare these areas for patron use throughout the course of operating hours.
  • Provide information and instructions for patrons entering the golf course and administering the smooth, systematic and timely coordination of tee times.
  • Provide customer service for patrons using the practice centre
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization in work areas and throughout the facility.
  • Assist with the operation of tournaments, golf outings, special events, and lesson programs as requested.

Safety/Compliance
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all general and departmental specific safety rules.
  • Enforce safety rules and improve employee knowledge of the same by confronting and correcting unsafe behavior and conditions.
  • Immediately report all accidents and unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
  • Cooperate and assist in the investigation of accidents.
  • Attend all required safety program and in-service education meetings.
  • Implementation and enforcement of all safety measures, monitoring and reporting on weather conditions and any other hazardous situations that could affect patron or staff safety.
  • Utilize the Rockford Park District's HRIS system for all HR and payroll-related requirements and to accurately clock in and out for all shifts.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Education/Experience
  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • Must possess a valid Illinois Driver's License.
  • Availability to work weekends and holidays.
  • Flexible schedule, including shifts as early as 5:30 a.m. and as late as 7:00 p.m.
  • Basic knowledge of golf course operations and golf rules/regulations preferred.
