Build a smarter shop: elevate quality, lower cost, lead by example
Join as an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to fuse production leadership with deep CAD/CAM expertise. Your mission: coordinate machining activity, create robust CNC programs and route sheets, and champion methods that reduce part cost while boosting quality.
Why this role matters
From coordinating day-to-day production to designing the fixture strategy, your work determines throughput, cost, and quality. You’ll lead a multi-functional department, roll out training, and standardize processes that scale.
Your impact areas
- Operations leadership: control and coordinate production; provide support through CNC program development and computer-generated route sheets.
- Process innovation: develop new manufacturing processes to reduce cost; drive cost-reduction initiatives across the department.
- Machining excellence: manage shop-floor manufacturing, CAD/CAM interfaces, CNC programming, and route-sheet generation.
- Frontline support: assist machine operators with real-time troubleshooting.
- Programming & documentation: author CNC programs and route sheets for all production requirements.
- Tooling & fixtures: issue tooling orders for required fixturing; partner with tool designers to predesign fixtures; generate tool requisitions for all non HI-LO items.
- Quality & reliability: coordinate efforts to eliminate root causes of scrap and rework; collaborate with Product Engineering on quality/manufacturing/design problem-solving.
- Safety, housekeeping, and standards: promote a safe work environment, run a disciplined housekeeping program, and monitor/control ISO 9000 requirements where applicable.
Leadership & collaboration
- Occasional supervisory coverage during absences.
- Lead and direct Bargaining Unit Personnel with clear communication and fair administration.
What you’ll bring
- At least 5 years of experience in manufacturing and manufacturing processes, shop-floor control, graphics-based CNC programming, and computer-assisted route sheet generation.
- Proven ability to motivate and administer Bargaining Unit Personnel; strong communicator with analytical and problem-solving strengths.
