Sunrise is seeking a strategic, business-minded Assistant General Counsel (Transactional) to support our Real Estate, Development, and Asset Management teams.
What You'll Do:
• Provide legal counsel on real estate transactions and development projects
• Draft and negotiate purchase agreements, LOIs, financings, and management contracts
• Support joint ventures, asset acquisitions, and portfolio transactions
• Oversee title and survey diligence processes
• Advise senior leaders on corporate, contract, and compliance matters
• Partner with cross-functional teams to align legal strategy with business goals
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and internal policies
You will play a key role in structuring and negotiating complex transactions that drive Sunrise's growth and portfolio performance.
What We're Looking For:
• 6-7 years legal experience in corporate, real estate, or finance law
• Background in transactional and development work preferred
• Active bar license in good standing
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and drafting skills
• Sound legal and business judgment
• Ability to influence stakeholders across all levels
• Senior living or hospitality industry experience preferred
