Job description

The Solvere Technical Group is seeking a Lead Person or Assistant Supervisor that serve as backup to the Fore Person and, accordingly, is required to possess a substantially similar level of experience and expertise.

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, together with one of the following:

  • Appropriate trade school certification;
  • Appropriate industrial school certification;
  • Certification from an appropriate military training program or an accredited correspondence school, in a course of study encompassing mechanical, structural, electrical, or electronics theory, as well as the theory of operation and maintenance of shipboard systems; or
  • Successful completion of a four-year apprenticeship in the mechanical, structural, electrical, or electronics trade.

Experience Requirements:

(All years of experience may be concurrent.)

  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in a mechanical, structural, electrical, or electronics trade, including completion of a formal apprenticeship program or its equivalent.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience applying quality assurance procedures and requirements as they pertain to shipboard equipment and systems.
  • Demonstrated experience reading and interpreting blueprints, technical manuals, and other technical documentation, and sequencing work in a manner that eliminates redundant effort.
  • Demonstrated experience testing, troubleshooting, and inspecting installed equipment and systems.

Security Clearance: Confidential

The anticipated hiring range for this position is $60,000 to $100,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills, experience, education, certifications, internal equity, and geographic location.
